Compilation? Overnight

The compilation of the toolkit on FreeBSD 7.1 required aproximately nine hours on my 1.5 Ghz machine. The resultant composite collection of source, object files and both release and debug library versions consumed 3.1 GBytes of drive space.

The final "tbz" binary package file that I generated (for FreeBSD 7.1 platform, and for only the release libraries) weighs in at 17 MBytes

A first look at Nokia's1 LGPL'ed graphics library (version 4.5.1)

Along with myriad nifty controls and console application helper libraries, the toolkit includes the embeddable javascript capable browser engine derived from the same project as was the engine for the Apple Safari browser.

We obtained a copy of the new software, in order to review it. We quickly put it through it's paces, and found it to be a polished product.







The frameworks product comes as an SDK and supplies a considerable treasure of components that may be used to hasten the pace of GUI development.




The little dawg-photo-viewer (above) was a breeze to build by drag 'n drop methods on
my FreeBSD 7.1 desktop with the "gui creator" application supplied under the same LGPL
terms.
