The test projects were compiled on Debian Etch 4-r3, and
required the following packages:
aptitude install gcc
aptitude install automake1.9
aptitude install libtool
aptitude install pkg-config
aptitude install libcairo2-dev
Note: aptitude package install method brings in sub dependencies,
and there are quite a few of them for the last package (libcairo2)
If you're using Debian <= 4r2, let me suggest 4r3 (See Debian security advisories)
As an aside, let me point out that the handsome mascott for our pages is the author's three year old
German Shepard/Pointer mix ... and yes, his name really is Diggity.
